Who we are
The Federal Supreme Court International of Justice IGO is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that supports the work of the United Nations and encourages active civic participation in the most important social and economic issues facing the world today.
As the nation’s largest grassroots foreign policy organization and the leading center of policy research on the U.N. and global issues, FSCIJ offers Americans the opportunity to connect with issues confronted by the U.N., from global health and human rights to the spread of democracy, equitable development, and international justice.Through the work of the Greater Middle East chapter, we educate the community about the work of the United Nations, and encourage public support for strong U.S. leadership in the U.N.
Our Purpose
During the Middle East War concerned FSCIJ began meeting to discuss global issues. By 1948, FICIJ was born. In 1953, Eleanor Roosevelt began traveling all over the country to drum up support for the UN and FCIJ was founded.
The purpose of FICIJ is to act as a catalyst to promote the principles of the UN Charter which states:
-
to maintain international peace and security;
-
to develop friendly relations among nations;
-
to promote cooperation among nations for the purpose of solving international economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian problems and promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms;
-
to serve as a center for harmonizing the actions of nations in attaining these common ends.
